It looks even better than we expected. The robots have mined metals and made glass — not just what came in the transporter. New material too, found beneath the surface.

Touchdown. The Martian has landed.
They named the landing craft after the bloke in the film 😃

The side panel opened. Sarah Carter stepped out first and turned to the others. Then everyone lined up for the obligatory photo.
We did it. We really did it.
Yuri Leonov patted her on the shoulder.

Mitchell joined the others, all six of them together now, the greenhouse domes gleaming behind them.
Six out of twelve. We're the first. The rest will arrive tomorrow on the freighter and bring the rovers.
